Privacy Policy

AstraExplained is an independent, free-to-read guide site. This page explains what little data the site collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: no account, no forms that store your data, no sell — just standard anonymous analytics.

Who we are

This site (https://astraexplained.com) publishes independent, plain-English guides to OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra model. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI. For questions about this policy, see our contact page.

Information we collect

1. Anonymous usage analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which are not, so we can improve the guides. Google Analytics collects anonymous data such as page views, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and how long pages are viewed. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's official opt-out browser add-on.

2. Cookies

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. This site uses cookies only through third-party services described on this page (analytics and, if present, advertising). We do not set tracking cookies of our own, and we do not use cookies to build profiles that are sold to anyone.

3. Advertising

This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

4. Information you send us voluntarily

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list or share it with anyone.

What we do not do

Third-party links

Our guides link to external sources (OpenAI announcements, benchmark publishers, news coverage). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

Your rights

Because we collect no personal data beyond voluntary emails, there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have emailed us and want your message deleted, just ask — see the contact page. EU/EEA visitors: our legal basis for analytics and advertising cookies is consent via your browser settings and the opt-outs above.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here in plain language.
